Day 1: Arrive Amman (D)
On arrival in Jordan you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Amman, the elegant Four Seasons. Upon arrival hotel check-in and relax with a welcome drink, and a fruit basket and bottle of wine in your room. Enjoy dinner in your choice of restaurant in the hotel.
Day 2: Amman (B, L, D)
This morning take a guided tour of Amman, which reflects Rome in that it was originally built on seven hills. Visit the ruins of the Roman Theatre, the Citadel, the Umayyad Palace and the city's excellent museums. Continue to the King Abdullah mosque, also known as the Blue Dome Mosque before exploring the Royal Automobile Museum showcasing the historic personal collection of His Late Majesty King Hussein. Take lunch in Al Hwara, one of Amman's best local restaurants before having the afternoon at leisure to explore the city for yourself. In the evening take dinner in 32 Degrees North restaurant, located in the Grand Hyatt. This restaurant offers international cuisine with an emphasis on fish in a unique setting.
Day 3: Ajlun, Jerash, Pellam, Um Qais (B, L, D)
Explore the north of Jordan and its fantastic ancient monuments. First to Ajlun, with its fortress and magnificent view of the Jordan Valley, before continuing to Jerash - one of the best preserved Roman cities in the world with its famous Oval Forum. Enjoy lunch before departing for Um Qais - Roman and Byzantine ruins with views overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Sea of Galilee - and Pella, with its evidence of 6000 years of settlement. Return to Amman and enjoy dinner at Fakhr el Din, an old Jordanian house converted into one of Amman's best restaurants.
Day 4: Amman (B, D)
Free day in Amman to explore, shop or relax. Optional tours to Salt or the Desert Castles are available if you wish. In the late afternoon transfer to the Al Pasha Turkish bath for a traditional bath and scrub followed by a local dinner. Return to your hotel.
Day 5: Um al Rasas, Madaba, Mt. Nebo, Bethany beyond the Jordan - Dead Sea (B, L, D)
After breakfast depart Amman to visit the famous Byzantine mosaic of the Holy land in Madaba and the recent World Heritage listed mosaics in Um Al Rasas. Continue to the monastery on Mt. Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Have lunch at the Bethany restaurant, before visiting the site of Jesus' baptism and where John the Baptist preached. In the afternoon take a refreshing swim before continuing to your Dead Sea resort, the Kempinski Ishtar Resort. On arrival enjoy a welcome drink and dinner at one of the hotels restaurants overlooking the sea.
Day 6: Dead Sea (B)
Free day at leisure to relax in the Spa of your hotel and enjoy the healing properties of the Dead Sea mud. A car and guide will be available if you wish to explore the area further.
Day 7: Wadi Al Mujib, Kerak - Petra (B, L, D)
After a leisurely morning travel to the breathtaking scenery of Wadi al Mujib, a deep valley which is now a reserve home to 400 species of plants, 186 species of birds and 250 animal species. Continue to the crusader castle of Kerak and enjoy lunch in a local rest house. Proceed to Petra and check into the Movenpick Resort (in a Junior Suite) and enjoy a welcome drink. After a short rest enjoy dinner on the roof of the Movenpick Hotel in their garden restaurant overlooking the Wadi Musa Mountains.
Day 8: Petra (B, L, D)
Full day to explore the iconic ruins of the Nabataean city of Petra. Follow the narrow siq to view the famous Treasury before being guided around this extensive site. Have lunch inside the city. In the late afternoon, to recover from a long days walking around the ruins, transfer to Taybet Zaman village, a local Jordanian village converted into a resort, to relax with a Turkish bath and massage, followed by dinner in the resort. Return to your hotel.
Day 9: Petra - Wadi Rum - Aqaba (B, L, D)
Late morning transfer to the magnificent landscape of Wadi Rum. Start with a luxurious Bedouin lunch deep inside the desert before a five hour jeep tour. Optional champagne drinks to watch the sun go down. Transfer to the coastal resort of Aqaba and check into you hotel, the Kempinski Sawsana (from May 2009) with a welcome drink. Enjoy a specially prepared private dinner on the beach.
Day 10: Aqaba (B, D)
Free day on the coast to relax, visit the marine park or snorkel and dive. In the evening take dinner at the Royal Yacht Club.
Day 11: Leave Jordan (B)
Transfer to Aqaba airport for your international flight (or optional transfer to Amman for you international flight).
