Day 1: Lima
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer by private car to the deluxe five star Miraflores Park Hotel.
Day 2: Lima
After breakfast, a city tour of Lima including a guided visit to the cathedral, the main square and the San Francisco Catacombs. Lunch at an internationally renowned restaurant. Visit to a museum of your choice. Return to the hotel.
Day 3: Lima – Arequipa
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Arequipa. After the two hour flight, reception and transfer to your hotel. A guided tour of the white city, so-called because many of the buildings are made of volcanic sillar including a visit to the extraordinary Santa Catalina convent which is built from volcanic lava and dates from the 16th century. A visit will also be made to the museum to see Juanita, the best-preserved mummy in South America
Day 4. Arequipa – Colca Canyon
After breakfast, drive to the Colca valley passing through stunning landscapes and several villages until you arrive at Chivay, the most important town of the valley. Accommodation at the fabulous Colca Lodge set in the Colca Valley itself. With its very own hot springs, relax in the fabulous surroundings of the Canyon.
Day 5. Colca Canyon
A day of exploring the Colca Canyon with your guide. Descend into the valley to visit some of the villages, all of which have beautiful, colonial-style churches. You shall also see the Inca terraces, some of which are still in use and can be seen all along the valley.
Day 6. Colca Canyon - Puno
After breakfast an early departure to visit Cabanaconde from where one can appreciate a fine view of the flight of the condors as well as of the depth of the canyon. Continue the drive across the stunning altiplano to Puno. Lying on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, Puno is also the folkloric capital of Peru. Transfer to the Libertador Hotel.
Day 7. Puno - Lake Titicaca
After breakfast, a private tour by boat to the islands of Uros and Taquile on Lake Titicaca. A tour of the reed islands of Uros before continuing to Taquile, where members of this self-supporting island will welcome you and offer a glimpse into their ancient traditions and customs. Lunch on the island and an opportunity for some spectacular views over the haunting beauty of Lake Titicaca. Return to Puno and your hotel.
Day 8. Puno - Cuzco
Transfer to the railway station for the wonderful trans-altiplano Inca express (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays). Lunch onboard the "Orient Express" of Peru. (Alternatively, you may fly to Cuzco). Reception and transfer to the wonderful five star Monasterio hotel; ancient residence of the viceroy of Spain.
Day 9. Cuzco
After lunch, a guided tour of Cuzco including the cathedral, Qoricancha temple, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cuzco, Qenko and Puka Pukara. Return to the hotel. Dinner in the evening followed by a folkloric show.
Day 10. Sacred Valley
Full-day excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market town of Pisac. Lunch in Urubamba. A visit will be made to Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that was not defeated by the Spanish. A chance to explore the ruins before returning to Cuzco and the traditional market town of Chinchero. Return to your hotel.
Day 11. Cuzco – Machu Picchu
Train journey to Aguas Calientes on Vistadome class. Full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world. Lunch, dinner and accommodation at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.
Day 12. Machu Picchu - Cuzco
Opportunity to enjoy a wonderful sunrise over Machu Picchu and some personal time for private reflection. Lunch at the Sanctuary lodge. Return to Cuzco in the afternoon.
Day 13 Cuzco - Lima
Morning at leisure before your return flight to Lima and transfer to the deluxe 5* Miraflores Park Hotel.
Day 14: Lima
Leisurely day with plenty of opportunity for shopping before your transfer to the airport and your return flight home.
